Special Events
You want me to throw a party? Well… in short… yes. One of the best methods to develop a brand is to hold a big public event. It can be a simple party or “grand opening celebration”, an event to launch a new product, a contest to generate public interest, a “customer appreciation” event or one of a thousand other kinds of events. The possibilities are endless, as are the opportunities!
Brand it! The key to making this work for you as a brand development tool is to BRAND the event. It doesn’t do you any good to just throw a quiet little party, you need branded banners and signs, branded give-away items, guest speakers to talk about something important and tie it into your brand, and don’t forget advertising!
Publicity! If you’re planning a big event, you’ll want to do some advertising to let the public know about it. Or maybe it’s a “customer’s only” thing… you’ll still want to do a mailer to get the word out. There will be some time expense involved. Remember to alert the news media, as well, though! Good press can be even more effective than paid advertising.
Charity Events. Without question, charity and non-profit events are one of the best things you can do to get noticed in your community. Even if it’s not “your” event, having your brand prominently associated with the event will get your name out there in a very positive manner. People will remember your involvement, and your investment of time and money will come back to you.
